Our presenter said: "I envision this workshop as a way of working with voice as a vehicle of liberation and celebration. Making space in the body for authentic voice not only helps us with the physical work of singing but can also be a practice through which we can learn to find joy and freedom in other aspects of our lives and our work.

This is especially well connected with preparing for Pesach because we can use singing as a way of finding our way out of the Narrow Places and celebrating once we come to the other shore of the sea.

A six-hour workshop (with lunch break) should give us plenty of time for working with the voice itself as well as text study and reflection (through writing and discussion). Our singing would include exploring the voice in the body as well as bringing in some of my favorite freedom-themed Pesach songs.

Two important Torah texts associated with Pesach, the Song of the Sea and the Song of Songs, can serve as the basis for our text study on voice, celebration, and opening to ourselves, each other, and the Divine."
